ISBE Career Development and Preparation Division

The Career Development and Preparation Division has a new Division administrator, Mr. Mark Williams and three new content consultants Carol Brooks, Business, Marketing and Management; Deborah Hopper, Family and Consumer Science; and Steve Parrott, Industrial Technology. Scott Edgar, Ron Reische, and Dora Welker are pioneers in the division as grant administrators, content consultants, and secondary coordinators. Cindy Nolting, Kathy Rothenberg, and Debbie Gheen are the division administrative support staff members. The team is committed to providing top-notch service to the field as well as providing leadership in grant administration and technical support.

Mark Williams has established six workgroups which are commissioned to develop action plans with objectives to provide leadership. In the months to come you will hear more on the following workgroups:

• Affiliate Enhancement
• EFE Responsibilities and Procedures
• Data Quality
• Teacher Recruitment/Professional Development

The Integration of Higher Standards workgroup will investigate how the increased graduation requirements will affect career and technical education.
