IACTE Mission

To provide unified, visionary leadership to advance and promote all aspects of career and technical education.

IACTE Purposes

The purposes of the Association shall be:

  1. To promote the development, upgrading and dissemination of quality career and technical education programs at the elementary, secondary, post-secondary and adult levels of education.
  2. To provide for professional development and growth activities involving current trends, issues and emerging technologies for all career and technical educators so as to promote quality instruction.
  3. To foster leadership development that will encourage and recognize bold thinking, creativity and innovation among its members to assure the continuation of a strong Association.
  4. To promote and develop cooperative partnerships between the educational community and business/industry/labor.
  5. To promote the unification of all career and technical education.
  6. To support legislation at the State and Federal levels, which will promote the mission and purposes of the Association.
  7. To promote the unification of all career and technical education interests in Illinois into the Association through affiliates and liaisons.
  8. To encourage active membership involvement in the accomplishment of the mission and purposes of the Association.
  9. To promote membership growth in all areas served by the Association.
  10. To support and promote the activities of career and technical education student organizations.
  11. To provide the fiscal means to accomplish the mission and purposes of the Association.
  12. To continue affiliation with the Association for the Career and Technical Education and actively support its activities and programs.
